ePLDT has announced a partnership with Dell Technologies and Katonic AI to launch Pilipinas AI. This project aims to help businesses access AI tools without having to spend heavily on hardware or infrastructure.
Introduced as the country’s first sovereign AI, the platform intends to solve two major issues for businesses nationwide. This includes addressing the lack of available AI exports nationwide along with the general difficulty of setting up AI.
Pilipinas AI will serve as a readily available platform that businesses can leverage. It will be run from ePLDT’s Vitro Sta. Rosa facility. This is known as the country’s first data center built for handling intense demands from AI computing.
The partnered companies see many fields being able to make use of the platform. These consist of the banking and finance industry, healthcare providers, government services, academic institutions, and the BPO sector.
Pilipinas AI hopes to tend to tasks like fraud detection, medical diagnostics, weather forecasting, and customer service improvements. To support this project, ePLDT is offering the services of their 11 data centers.
These facilities are located in different parts of the Philippines located in Cebu, Clark, Davao, Makati, Paranaque, Pasig, Subic, and Taguig.
