Fujifilm X-E5 mirrorless camera unveiled

The Fujifilm X-E5 has been unveiled globally as the latest iteration of their X-series cameras. Notably, it’s the first camera in the series to have a top plate crafted from machined aluminum. It weighs 445 grams and comes with two color options.

In detail, it’s a mirrorless digital camera fitted with the backlit 40.2MP X-Trans CMOS 5 HR sensor. This is complemented by the X-Processor 5 image processing engine. One of its standout features is its digital teleconverter function allowing 1.4x and 2.0x zoom levels.

It’s also the first in its line to feature a five-axis IBIS mechanism. This delivers up to 7 stops in the center and 6 stops in the periphery.

Plus, it also features a newly-designed Film Simulation dial with a precision-cut indicator window. This minimizes the gap between the dial and body. Users can also tinker with this and image quality settings to the FS1-FS3 positions.

The X-E5 has a new Surround View that joins the new Classic Display as well. Surround View displays the area around the shooting range as a semi-transparent or line pattern following the aspect ratio.

Meanwhile, Classic Display is a retro/minimalist mode for the EVF taking inspiration from old film cameras simplifying EVF information. Users can switch between the two modes with ease using a level.

In addition, the camera has a rear-tilting monitor that can be flipped upward and forward facing up to 180 degrees. This caters to various compositions, selfies included. Lastly, it supports up to 6.2K video at 30p resolution with tracking AF during recording.

Readers can check the Fujifilm X-E5 out at the brand’s official website 45.
