Garmin’s smartwatches are catered for outdoor enthusiasts like runners, hikers, swimmers and cyclists. Good thing they can choose between these three new Fenix watches starting with the Fenix 5.

The Fenix 5 is a 47mm smartwatch with an option to switch between leather or metal straps. It’s rated to withstand 100-metre deep water. There’s a 3-axis compass on board as well as a gyroscope and barometric altimeter, while GPS and GLONASS support means tracking is well and truly covered.

It promises 2 weeks of battery life in smartwatch mode and 24 hours in GPS mode.

The Fenix 5S is designed for females who prefer to fit a 42mm watch. It’s got the same set of features as the Fenix 5 although it promises only eight days in smartwatch mode and 13 hours in GPS mode.

Lastly, there’s the Fenix 5X which is the biggest of the group with its 51mm casing. It’s preloaded with TOPO US mapping and cycling maps and an Around Me maps mode for points of interest. It also lets you view data overlays during tracked activity without the need for switching screens.

It could give 12 days battery life in smartwatch mode and 20 hours in GPS mode.

The Fenix 5 and Fenix 5S are expected to be priced at $599.99 (~Php30k) while the Sapphire glass versions of the two and Fenix 5X are at $699.99 (~Php35k). They are set to ship within the first quarter of 2017.
