Globe tops Opensignal 5G video experience, upload speed, core consistent quality in October 2022

Opensignal has released their Mobile Experience Awards for October 2022, Philippines report, showing Globe as the winner when it comes to 5G Video Experience, 5G upload speed, and Core Consistent Quality.

According to the report, Globe got a score of 12.8 on 5G Upload Speed, versus Smart’s 11.4 Mbps, a margin of 1.4 Mbps. Globe’s win was driven by a 1.8 Mbps increase in the average 5G upload speeds seen by Globe users and a 3.2 Mbps decline in those seen by Smart users.

When it comes to 5G video experience, Globe got a score of 73.5 out of 100, versus Smart’s 68.4 points.

As for Core Consistent Quality, Globe got 76.9% of tests, Smart has 75.6% and DITO has 76.4%. However, when it comes to Excellent Consistent Quality, Smart wins with 58.2%, followed by DITO with 54.4%, then Globe at 53.7%.

Consistent Quality measures how often users’ experience on a network was sufficient to support common applications’ requirements. It measures download speed, upload speed, latency, jitter, packet loss, time to first byte and the percentage of tests attempted which did not succeed due to a connectivity issue on either the download or server response component.

Globe and Smart are joint winners for 5G Games Experience and 5G Voice App Experience.
