Google Play Protect now scans third-party applications

Google Play Services has the ability to scan the applications in the Play Store. Now, a new update allows Play Protect to scan third-party programs.

Google has implemented a new feature for Google Play Protect which scans third-party applications for any malicious apps or malware.

With this new feature, this can protect mobile users by scanning in real-time to provent and remove any harmful program in a device. Applications are scanned periodically in the backgrund as well, but users may initiate the scan as well through “My Apps & Games” in the Play Store.

Currently, this update is live in India, but Google has stated that they plan on releasing this to other countries soon.
