The GoPro MAX2 is now official as the long-awaited successor to its 360-degree action camera. It offers a host of improvements geared towards immersive content with dual-lens capture, updated hardware, and smoother editing workflows.
It now supports 5.7K dual-lens video recording and new shooting modes. This includes HERO Mode (single-lens standard video), 360 Mode, and Max TimeWarp for hyperlapse videos.
This camera also introduces Horizon Lock in 360 Mode, levelling even fully rotated footage. Content creators and VR enthusiasts should be able to leverage this for immersive storytelling.
Powering this device is the latest GP2 processor, delivering faster boot times, lower latency, and smoother mobile previews. GoPro’s Quick app also supports the camera in accommodating MAX2 footage with better reframing tools.
Other features include voice control and water resistance up to 5 meters (16 feet). The GoPro MAX2 is priced at USD 499 (~PHP 29K), currently available for preorders in the US.
We’ll update readers should details arrive about its pricing and availability in the Philippines.
