Honda brings the Civic Type-R to PH

Japanese carmaker Honda’s local arm is set to bring in a limited number of the Civic Type-R into our shores, just in time for the model’s 25th anniversary.

The Honda Civic Type-R features a 2.0-liter VTEC TURBO engine that offers 6,500rpm and 310PS power output, with torque peaks of 400 Nm from 2500rpm to 4500rpm. It also has a helical limited-slip differential (LSD) for strong cornering traction, a lower-arm-type front MacPherson strut suspension for more efficient handling, and a 6-speed manual transmission system.

Its cosmetics also carry the traditional Civic Type-R design cues such as a Type-R spoiler, the iconic red Honda badge, and carbon fiber effect with a sporty red accent line on the front and rear bumpers and its side skirts.

Honda Cars PH will be bringing in a very limited number — 100 — of these Civic Type-Rs in the country starting in September for Php2,980,000 in either Championship White or Rallye Red colors. Despite the long wait, Honda will accept reservations starting tomorrow, July 11, at all of their dealerships nationwide, with the early birds getting their brand new cars at a special event.
