‘HONOR Magic8 Mini’ compact flagship reportedly in the works

Listen to article

Compact flagships are slowly making a return, and Honor seems to be following that trend.

Leaks about the upcoming HONOR Magic8 Series suggest it will feature three models this year. Aside from the vanilla and Pro models, the new addition is a more compact phone, possibly called the HONOR Magic8 Mini.

It is rumored to feature a 6.31-inch LTPO OLED display and a MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset. It will join the vanilla Magic8 and Magic8 Pro, which are said to come with 6.58-inch and 6.71-inch LTPO OLED screens, respectively.

The standard and Pro variants may include 3D face recognition and use Qualcomm’s unannounced Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chip. Leaks also mention over 7000mAh battery capacity, a 200MP telephoto camera, and new AI-powered imaging tech.

The HONOR Magic8 series is expected to launch in October.
