Huawei and Xiaomi agreed on global patent licensing deal

Xiaomi and Technologies have agreed on a cross-licensing deal, solving the dispute between both companies.

Back in March, Huawei has sued mainly for their wireless communication and screen lock technology alongside their smartphone photography.

Today, Huawei and Xiaomi have agreed on a global patent license. The deal mainly talks about 5G communication technologies.

Additionally, Huawei also has patent agreements with other tech companies like South Korea’s Samsung, Oppo and Ericsson.

From royalty revenues alone, Huawei has gained USD 560PHP 32,864INR 47,460EUR 533CNY 4,076 million in 2022. The company has earned more than they’ve paid for over the last two years as smartphone sales decline over the years.
