Xiaomi and Huawei Technologies have agreed on a cross-licensing deal, solving the dispute between both companies. Back in March, Huawei has sued Xiaomi mainly for their wireless communication and screen lock technology alongside their smartphone photography. Today, Huawei and Xiaomi have agreed on a global patent license. Additionally, Huawei also has patent agreements with other tech companies like South Korea's Samsung, Oppo and Ericsson. From royalty revenues alone, Huawei has gained USD 560 million in 2022. Huawei makes some of the most interesting little gadgets around and when I visited their booth at CommunicAsia yesterday, they've got a dozens of Pocket WiFi and USB sticks for all sorts of cellular network on display. The one above is the Huawei WiFi E589 which supports LTE, 3G and 2G connections with speeds up to 50Mbps. This one is the Huawei E398 which is an LTE USB dongle, similar to the one being used by Smart LTE Evolution.
