Announced on Weibo that the Pocket 2 will be making its debut on February 22nd. BTW lots of announcement this coming 22nd. So buckle up!

From the leaked renders we’ve seen floating around, it seems to be sticking with the clamshell design of its predecessor. The main change is a circular camera module on the back when open, along with a smaller external display. Other than that, it’s keeping the same rounded edges and should fit nicely in the palm.

As for specs, it’s safe to assume the Kirin 9000S chip will be powering things under the hood. Huawei’s been relying on that one for all their top models lately. HarmonyOS 4 is a given too. The only other solid rumor is a bigger battery to keep that folding screen lit up. Beyond that, we’ll have to wait for more official details from Huawei closer to launch.
I’m definitely interested to see how they follow up the original Pocket. That small-but-functional form factor was pretty cool. Fingers crossed they iron out any quirks and give us a polished package later this month. The P70 series release is also still rumored for March. Exciting times ahead for Huawei foldables!
