Apple’s Find My app is getting a nifty new feature that could make it easier to locate lost AirTags.

According to MacRumors, iOS 18.2 (beta 2) introduces a “Share Item Location” option, allowing users to temporarily share the location of a lost AirTag with anyone aside from their trusted contacts.

This would be especially useful for travelers, especially when dealing with lost luggage. Users can just simply share a link with airline staff, potentially speeding up the process of finding a lost luggage.

The link, which is accessible on both Apple and non-Apple devices, provides real-time location data or the last known location of the AirTag.

To add an extra layer of convenience, Apple has implemented a time limit on the shared link. It automatically expires after a week or when the lost item is recovered.

Users can also track how many people have accessed the link. There’s even a “Show Contact Info” option to let people know how to contact the user about the lost AirTag.
