Apple has just launched the iPad Mini (2024), which has some notable upgrades compared to its predecessor. While it hasn’t arrived on Philippine shores yet, prices have been revealed via a listing on Apple’s Philippine website.
The device has an 8.3-inch Liquid Retina display that caps at a refresh rate of 60Hz. Plus, it offers a resolution of 2266 x 1488 and a 3:2 aspect ratio.
The tablet is powered by an Apple A17 Pro chip, which also powers the iPhone 15 Pro Series. The chip includes a 6-core CPU, 5-core GPU, and a 16-core Neural Engine.
For memory and storage configurations, Apple has kept details on its RAM under wraps. However, it now offers a new base storage of 128GB. Interested readers may still opt to go for the higher storage options with units that have 256GB and 512GB available.
For cameras, the device kept the 12-megapixel sensors on both sides. But with the A17 Pro chip, it’s fair to expect better image processing with the iPad now.
Next, it packs a 19.3WHr battery that supports 20W of charging via USB Type-C. The power brick is provided with the box. This iteration of the iPad Mini is slated to last up to 10 hours with browsing, watching videos, etc.
Other features include stereo speakers, two microphones, Apple Intelligence courtesy of iPadOS 18, and a connectivity upgrade in Wi-Fi 6E.
