Lenovo Unveils Limited Edition Ducati 5
Lenovo has partnered with Ducati to create its new Limited-edition thin and light laptop, the Ducati 5.
The Ducati 5 takes inspiration from Ducati’s motorbikes, intending to be bold. Underneath, Lenovo has moved from their traditional circular hole shaped vents to Ducati’s hexagon “Honeycomb” design. A red stripe with the Ducati Corse logo also runs from the top of the lid to the bottom. Lenovo also used a different alloy for the logos and used Ducati’s typeface for the individual serial numbers on the bottom of the laptop. The BIOS chime when booting was also altered to mirror the buzz of MotoGP riders racing, with the Ducati logo front and center.
The Ducati 5 sports a 14-inch FHD IPS display capable of 300 nits of brightness, a 10th Generation Intel Core i5 processor with Intel integrated graphics, paired with 8GB DDR4 memory and a 1TB PCIe SSD for storage, and a battery rated for 12 hours.
For security, Lenovo incorporated a fingerprint reader in the power button with Windows Hello support and a privacy shutter for the HD webcam.
Lenovo only produced 12,000 units of the Ducati 5. It comes with a gift box and a carrying sleeve with an emblazoned Ducati Shield. Lenovo will begin sales in April 2020 for a starting price of EUR 899.
