LinkedIn has announced its Top Companies List in the Philippines which reveals the 15 best workplaces where professionals can thrive with their careers.
To rank the companies, LinkedIn 34 utilized its platform data and evaluated them based on eight pillars that demonstrate a path to career progression. These pillars include the ability to advance, skills growth, company stability, external opportunity, company affinity, gender diversity, educational background, and employee presence in the country.

Accenture, an IT services and consulting firm, topped this year’s list, followed by financial services companies Mynt (GCash) and Maya at #2 and #3, respectively.
Other IT services and consulting firms, Kyndryl at #8, and financial services companies Citi (#12) and Prudential (#14) also made it to the top 15.
Meanwhile, Philip Morris International (#4), Unilever (#5), and Procter & Gamble (#10) which were among large global manufacturers also appeared on the list.
Additionally, Nestle (#15), a food and beverage company, made its third appearance.
This year marks a milestone for utility company Aboitiz Power (#7), telco corporation The Globe Group (#6), pharmaceutical company Boehringer Ingelheim (#13), outsourcing and offshoring consultancy services firm Sagility (#11), and software and technology solutions provider SAP (#9) for making it to the list for the very first time.
This signals opportunities for professionals with diverse backgrounds and skill sets in various companies and industries.
According to LinkedIn data, the in-demand skills in the IT services sector are associated with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Computer Security, while the financial services sector is looking for skills associated with Fintech, Artificial Intelligence, and Economics.
And some of the top companies are investing in the largest job functions such as Engineering, Information Technology, Customer Success, and Support.
With LinkedIn’s third annual edition of the list, professionals can gain valuable insights into the most significant job functions and in-demand skills of the companies, which can help them secure job opportunities.
Atul Harkisanka, Head of Emerging Markets and Country Lead for the Philippines at LinkedIn, said that the 2023 Top Companies List provides professionals with actionable insights and resources to discover job opportunities. It helps them identify the skills and roles being hired for, connect with employees in their network, and stay informed about future opportunities.
Top companies like Globe Group and Maya expressed their preferences on hiring professionals.
Renato Jiao, Chief Human Resources Officer of the Globe Group, said that the company seeks individuals who are passionate about creating positive change, in addition to having technical competencies. They value visionaries, advocates, disruptors, risk takers, and problem-solvers who have a heart for the Filipino people.
Meanwhile, Charee Lanza, the Chief People Officer of Maya, emphasizes that they are looking for talents who are excited to build innovative solutions that can enhance the lives of the unbanked, underbanked, and unhappily banked Filipinos, and who share the company’s mission, vision, and values. Technical capabilities are not the only factor that they consider when hiring.
These top companies value candidates with soft skills such as problem-solving, creativity, and innovation.
A separate LinkedIn research says that soft skills such as customer service, management, and communications are among the most in-demand skills by Philippine employers.
Harkisanka also provided tips on how to get a job at a top company based on interviews with hiring managers: research the company, show integrity and authenticity, demonstrate intent, be curious, learn in-demand skills, and don’t give up.
Job seekers should research the company by reviewing its LinkedIn page, following key execs, and reading articles. They should also engage with their network and chat with current or former employees to get a feel for the company’s culture, values, and benefits.
Authenticity is key, so job seekers should be honest and transparent about their strengths, where they’d like to grow, and how the company can help them achieve their goals.
They should demonstrate how they can contribute to the company and their willingness to learn and grow.
Additionally, job seekers should be curious and open-minded about opportunities, learn new skills that align with in-demand skills, and persist in applying to other roles if they don’t get the first one.
