MacBook Pro M4 series announced, priced in the Philippines

The new Macbook Pro M4 series has been priced in the Philippines! Interested readers may also feel free to check the listings via Apple’s official website 273 for the TL;DR.

The M4 series is built for Apple Intelligence, with each device equipped with 16-Core Neural Engines. This is further complemented by accelerating machine learning via the CPU and an advanced GPU.

We’ll be dividing what each device can do per chip, namely the base M4, M4 Pro, and M4 Max. We’ll dive deeper into what they can do in another article.

M4

The M4 has a 10-Core CPU and 10-Core GPU. Users may get this variant with up to 32GB of unified memory. This is almost twice (1.8x) as fast as the MacBook Pro (13-inch) powered by an M1 chip.

Users may enjoy editing photos, videos, or even rendering on resource-intensive apps like Blender. Plus, the Neural Engine is three times more powerful than the M1 chip.

Aside from that, the new devices are noted to be very power efficient. To be specific, Apple promises up to 24 hours of battery on a single charge.

The MacBook Pro (M4) is priced at PHP 99,990 with 16GB of Unified Memory and 512GB of SSD storage. It’s also available for PHP 111,990 with 16GB and 1TB and PHP 123,990 with 24GB and 1TB.

M4 Pro

Next, we have the MacBook Pro powered by the M4 Pro chips. As it’s more powerful, developers and creatives will surely appreciate its high performance.

It’s available in either a 14-inch or 16-inch display. It also offers up to a 14-Core CPU and up to a 20-Core GPU. This is almost twice as powerful as the base M4 variant.

Additionally, the M4 Pro variant has a 75 percent increase in memory bandwidth compared to its predecessors. It’s almost three times faster than models equipped with an M1 Pro chip as well.

Key uses for this device include speeding up processes for tasks like data modeling, structural engineering, and geo mapping.

The 14-inch MacBook Pro with an M4 Pro chip is priced at PHP 129,990 with 24GB and 512GB. It’s also available for PHP 153,990 with 1TB of SSD storage.

As for the 16-inch variant with an M4 Pro, it’s priced at PHP 159,990 with 24GB and 512GB. Its higher option is available for PHP 183,990 with a hefty 48GB of Unified Memory and 512GB of SSD storage.

M4 Max

Last but certainly not least, the MacBook Pro equipped with the M4 Max chip. These variants have the best that Apple has to offer (for now). 3D artists and data scientists can certainly make the most out of these offerings.

The M4 Max offers up to a 16-Core GPU and up to a 40-Core GPU. Not only that, it offers over half a terabyte per second of unified memory bandwidth. It’s three times faster than the M1 Max chip, allowing on-device AI models to run as fast as possible.

It will make heavy workloads like 3D animation and film scoring feel so much easier. The M4 Max has a powerful Media Engine that features two ProRes accelerators. Safe to say, 4K videos on the iPhone 16 Pro can be edited with ease in Final Cut Pro.

The 14-inch MacBook Pro with the M4 Max is priced at PHP 201,990. Meanwhile, the 16-inch variant will be available for PHP 219,990 with 36GB of memory and 1TB of SSD storage. It’s also available for PHP 249,990 with 48GB and 1TB available.

It’s currently unavailable for pre-orders in the Philippines, but we’ll update readers when it is. What do you guys think of the new Macbook Pro M4 series? Share your thoughts with us in the comments!

Duane Villanueva
Communication graduate, closet cynic, and kid at heart. Duane is a rare person to find, quite literally. He often takes to himself but has proven his mettle in tech media with his quick wits. Well, the portfolio of scriptwriting, web content, and public relations help too, we suppose. As a homebody, he often spends his time on the streaming platform Twitch or ‘farming’ gaming clips with friends. He is also an avid fan of round glasses and anything relative to blueberries.
  1. Would have been better if the actual release date was included in the article
