Maya introduces rebates for users receiving remittances from Middle East

Listen to article

As a likely response to the international disputes, Maya has introduced a new feature for users’ families receiving remittances from the Middle East.

Maya users who receive remittances from the following countries may receive rebate incentives: Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Israel, Lebanon and Jordan.

Once the remittances are received, local users will also get an invitation to join Maya XP within a few days. It’s a program that allows users to acquire specific incentives and benefits – which can be accessed via a streamlined “Get Started” process.

For ATM withdrawals, users can get back PHP 18 per transaction. Meanwhile, InstaPay transfers can yield back PHP 15 in rebates. These amounts are automatically credited back to the users’ Maya accounts when the transations are made.

Other bonuses are also available on the Maya XP app.

This is what Maya Group president Shailesh Baidwan had to say: “With many overseas Filipinos in the Middle East supporting their families back home, we aim to make it easier for households to access and make the most of these remittances by reducing everyday transaction costs.”

This is a noble endeavor by Maya – and hopefully it lightens the load of increasing costs, even just a little bit!
