Meta and AMD expand AI partnership

Listen to article

A multi-year deal between AMD and Meta has been revealed to expand Meta’s AI infrastructure with up to 6 gigawatts of AMD Instinct GPUs.

The partnership helps Meta develop its artificial intelligence capabilities through its advanced training and testing systems.

The system will operate through custom-built AMD Instinct MI450 GPUs which work together with 6th Generation AMD EPYC Venice and future Verano processors. The systems will connect to Meta’s Helios rack-scale architecture which they developed together with the Open Compute Project. The first products will be delivered during the second half of 2026.

Meta’s MTIA accelerator program will use AMD ROCm software to enhance both performance and efficiency. The agreement includes performance-based warrants which link to shipment targets thus both companies will work together to develop their global AI infrastructure.
