According to one of Microsoft’s head honchos based in Czechoslovakia, the software giant will make their productivity app available for iOS and Android users beginning on March 2013.
The Verge mentioned that they saw a Press Release confirming the statement of Petr Bobek (Microsoft Product Manager) which mentioned plans of offering the Office to other platforms outside Windows starting on March next year. It also mentioned that the business users will be the first ones to get a taste of the new Office starting this December followed by a consumer launch two months after.

But before we all get too excited about this breaking news, let’s take a step back and recall the erroneous statement made by Nuno Silva (also a Microsoft Employee) about Microsoft’s plan of upgrading all Windows Phone 7 devices to WP8. Although this is a totally different situation, we still can’t disregard the possibility that this may just turn out to be nothing but a rumor.
In an official statement made by Microsoft about this allegation, the company said that “the information shared by our Czech subsidiary is not accurate. We don’t have anything to further share at this timeâ€. Judging from the statement, it seems that the company is disproving Mr Bobek’s claims. However, the company did mention their plans of bringing Office to mobile platforms including iOS and Android before. Therefore, we believe that if there’s anything “inaccurate†with what the Microsoft Product Manager has shared, it’s the release date of the software.

Czechoslovakia had been separated into two different countries many years ago.
