New innovations “For Every You” unveiled at GrabX event

Grab unveiled a new lineup of innovations “For Every You” at their inaugural GrabX product showcase. The new solutions include improved experiences for user personas like Family ‘You’, Solo ‘You’, and Explorer ‘You’.

There’s also the launch of a new Grab Early Access Program, open to all early adopters. The company is encouraging people to apply to try new features, while also giving feedback for improving services.

Below is a rundown for all the new features that Grab offers.

Grab For Family | Teens

This is a safe and reliable way for teenagers (aged 13-17) to travel independently while giving parents peace of mind. With Teens accounts linked to your Grab for Family account, teenagers can book rides on their own or by you.

The new feature is designed with extra safety features built-in for protection, including:

Prioritized assignment to top-rated driver-partners with proven track records

Ride PIN verification to prevent teens from getting into wrong cars with wrong drivers. This works when a ride arrives and teens have to get a PIN from the driver for use within the app. The ride will only start if the given PIN is a match.

AudioProtect, which will be using GenAI soon to detect real-time threats in the car to help Grab intervene immediately.

Grab for Family rides will also feature trip monitoring, allowing parents to track their children from start to finish. Grab will detect and flag any unusual activity on a trip like deviation, unplanned stops, or premature termination.

This will be launching across Grab’s markets starting as soon as May 2025.

There’s also another Grab for Family feature that works behind-the-scenes. It caters to large orders and ensures that they arrive reliably with the help of a Large Language Model (LLM).

Made for gatherings, large orders are now identified by AI by using its weight and size. From here, Grab works to find a 4-wheeler or two motorbike delivery partners (depending on availability) to collect your order.

The rides are dispatched in a way that makes sure your order doesn’t arrive far apart from each other. This solution is now live across Southeast Asia and is continuously improving.

Solo ‘You’

Solutions for those flying solo have been announced at the event as well. After all, being on your own shouldn’t feel inconvenient when it comes to food.

GrabFood for One

This caters to individuals looking for means towards simple, accessible food delivery. GrabFood for One offers a solo dining experience with no minimum spend and a fixed low delivery fee.

Grab works with merchant-partners to help users choose from a variety of meal options. This comes with a quick checkout experience without breaking the bank. It’s currently live and available in Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.

Shared Saver

This was designed for users that feel like small orders are wasteful. It lets users find and join live orders near them, which is basically joining a Group Order with strangers.

This works by using AI to detect multiple orders in the area from the same merchant. However, it comes with a countdown timer to let users know how soon they need to make a decision. It also informs users how much they’ve saved from delivery by joining another person’s order.

With that, you can also initiate a shared order yourself. Grab helps you by inviting nearby eaters interested in the same restaurant to join your delivery. The best part is that using this feature is even more affordable than Saver delivery with no small order fee.

Shared Saver will be piloted in Singapore from April and is set to roll out pilots in other areas by June 2025.

Explorer ‘You’

Whether abroad, in new cities, or at home—Grab strives to be the companion you need for exploring. Below are some of its newest features tailored for discovery.

Advance Booking (Airport Pickup)

This offers users a reliable service that adjusts to your flight status. It’s pretty straightforward, just book before you leave home and Grab will track your flight in real-time.

It adjusts driver schedules based on actual arrival times, making sure that your driver is there when you arrive. It helps users gain peace of mind and worry about nothing but enjoying the trip.

Dine Out Discovery (Powered by GrabMaps

This feature gives users a fresh way to find new dining options with great deals. Users can search and filter by cuisine, food preferences, popularity, ratings, price, and even walkable distance.

Tapping a restaurant lets users see details like menus, opening hours, photos, user reviews, and possible dine out deals. Users can even make reservations should it be available. Plus, you can use an integrated map to navigate your way to the restaurant or tap to book a ride.
Dine Out Discovery will be available across all markets by May. Reservations are set to be launched in Indonesia, Singapore, and Thailand next month with other markets to follow.

Grab Travel Pass

The new Grab Travel Pass includes vouchers for airport rides, general transport, food delivery, and dining out. This makes traveling around Southeast Asia more affordable, convenient, and enjoyable.
