In the recent Windows Insider blog post 80update is the addition of the “My Phone” search icon in the Windows Share menu. This icon will appears when you attempt to share content, streamlining the process of sending files to your Android device.
To see the “My Phone” icon, your PC and Android phone need to be paired. You can do this using the Link to Windows app on Android and the Phone Link app on your PC. Once paired, the new icon will appear in the quick share feature on Windows 11, allowing you to effortlessly send content from your PC to your phone.
At present, this functionality is accessible solely to Windows Insiders participating in the beta channel. However, its inclusion in the beta version hints at a potential broader release in the near future. This update also brings additional practical features such as jump lists for pinned apps in the Start menu and enhanced image management within Windows Spotlight.
Transferring files has traditionally been somewhat burdensome, often necessitating multiple apps or even physical cables.
