PUBG Lite to shut down globally on April 29

Krafton has announced to shut down PUBG Lite globally effective April 29.

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds Lite or PUBG Lite, a low-end version of the battle royale game PUBG, is officially closing down on the said date. Krafton has confirmed the news of the game’s shutdown through a notice on its official website.

“We are deeply grateful for the passion and support from the astounding number of PUBG LITE fans that have been with us. During the strenuous times of the COVID-19 pandemic, we hope that PUBG LITE was able to provide our fans a fun way to stay safe,” Krafton said in the release.

Krafton also mentioned that they had made the difficult decision to close the service after much deliberation.

• March 30, 2021 (UTC) – lite.pubg.com webpage will be closed, and new downloads will no longer be available.
• April 29, 2021, at 05:00 (UTC) – End of service
• May 29, 2021 (UTC) – Player Support for Lite will no longer be available.

The release also mentioned that PUBG Lite’s users will be able to play the game and spend in-game credits, including L-COIN as they used to before, until the game is terminated.

Meanwhile, the company has announced to keep the PUBG LITE Facebook page live even after the game service termination until further notice.
