Qualcomm just unveiled a new member to their wearable chipset line dubbed Snapdragon Wear 2500. Although, the chip is specifically designed for kid smartwatches rather than mainline ones.
The chipset still uses the rather aged Cortex-A7 though Qualcomm promises 14% more power efficiency. Despite the rather old internals the Wear 2500 does have a new 5th generation 4G LTE modem and can support cameras of up to 5MP. Other than that the chipset comes with an optimized Android version for kid watches. The new kits will become available in Q3 2018 with the first watches to sport the chip to follow shortly after.
