Qualcomm outs 4nm Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 chipset

Qualcomm has revealed their new Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 chipset at an event in India.

It’s positioned to be an affordable 5G chipset produced through a 4nm process technology fit for budget-friendly devices.

The chipset features 2 Cortex-A78 cores clocking up to 2.0GHz and 6 Cortex-A55 cores clocking up to 1.8GHz. All cores are down by 200 MHz in comparison to the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2.

Qualcomm is using a slower 5G modem rated for 1Gbps download speeds. Display support peaks at FHD+ for resolution and 90Hz for refresh rate.

The chipset’s image signal processing (ISP) supports up to 84-megapixels for main camera sensors. For local connectivity, it provides support for Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.1.

The new chip also has slower RAM, an unspecified Adreno GPU, but keeps its UFS 3.1 fast storage. In other news, Xiaomi has also confirmed launching the first smartphone powered by the Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 this year.
