Samsung intros Galaxy Enhance-X app: an AI-based photo editor

Samsung has silently launched its new photo editor app namely, Galaxy Enhance-X that uses ‘AI based techniques’ offering several straightforward editing features.

These AI-based techniques allow the user to both repair and enhance images, such as removing unwanted blurs and reflections. While also being able to sharpen and to upscale resolution up to three times the photo’s original size, to improve dynamic range, to brighten photos captured in low light, and even to apply an HDR effect.

Interestingly, the app reportedly removes moire patterns seen on images captured from television or any other digital displays. When editing, some options have a dial to adjust the intensity of an effect, and there’s a slider that shows a before-and-after comparison.

However, both the original and the edited image are saved in the gallery. Unlike Adobe Lightroom Mobile that imports the original photo into the app—that uses storage nonetheless—where the only edited image is shown in the gallery. Future app updates may resolve this though.

The Galaxy Enhance-X app can be downloaded via the Galaxy Store or via an APKMirror link if you wish to sideload the app to your Android phone.

According to its APKMirror link, the app requires Android 10, thus Galaxy and Android phones with older OS version might not get it.

Samsung also has the Expert RAW app for those pro in photography, and the Galaxy Enhance X aims for users who just want to get their photos edited in a few taps.
