Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 finally gets ICS

Back in July, we reported that some Samsung devices will be updated to Ice Cream Sandwich. It’s been a long time coming, but Samsung GT-P7310 users can finally bid Honeycomb goodbye as their beloved device gets updated to Android Ice Cream Sandwich.

GT-P7310

When almost every Android device is being updated to Jellybean, Samsung has just released the ICS update for the GT-P7310 via OTA and Kies. Now if you’re a proud owner of this tablet, you may look at it as an insult or just be thankful that Samsung has not totally forgotten about your device.

The update started rolling out in Malaysia since last week and is set to reach other parts of the globe in the coming weeks, so don’t forget to check your tablet.

  1. ooohhh… wa about tab 7.7? mine is very slow and keeps crashing! can this be addressed once upgraded? thank you

  2. my 7.7 got its ICS update over a month ago. Update process was smooth and it works very well…I connected my tablet to my PC and used Samsung Kies to update. I got my tablet in Hong Kong but I see no reason it shouldn’t work with locally acquired 7.7 tablets.

  3. I didn’t bother waiting, installed CM10 nightlies with Android version 4.1.2. Works good for me with a few glitches I can bear with.

  4. My Tab 10.1 got the ICS update a little earlier, on Nov 18. It was a loooong wait, Sammy. :(
