The first solar power farm in Metro Manila was inaugurated today. It is located at Brgy. Isla in Valenzuela City and will be fully operational by December 14.

The solar power farm is made up of 32,000 solar panels which can generate a total of 8.6 megawatts of electricity. The project was started by the city of Valenzuela some 7 months ago under the support of Mayor Rex Gatchalian.

SM North EDSA’s solar facility doesn’t qualify as a “solar farm” thus making this one as the first.

Syempre kailangan ibenta ang sobrang power na ma generate. Di yan parang diesel power plant or coal na pag walang demand ay di papaandarin.

Parang may mali statement na “the project was started by the city, and supported by Rex.” Open sa misinterpretation ‘yan. Sa tweet ni Mayor Rex Gatchalian, this is not a government funded project. This is a private venture, and the city only granted permits. Please correct. :-)

The City Government’s initiative to build a solar power farm is good but I hope the generated power will be distributed among households of Valenzuela City. Or I hope the city government provides incentives to households setting up solar panels at their homes.

Sold to Meralco? tapos hindi din naman cheaper ang singil sa kuryente. business as usual

Binta sa meralco ng mura tapos ang city nag babayad ng mas mahal sa meralco sa gamit nila sa kuryente. Parang lugi ata.
