TikTok enhances Family Pairing features

TikTok is rolling out improvements on the Family Pairing features that allow users to customize safety settings.

Previously, Family Pairing allows parents to link their kid’s TikTok account and manage the content they are watching. It includes access to screen time management, restricted modes, and direct messages.

Among the new set of controls added are Search that allows parents to look for content, users, hashtags, or sounds on TikTok, Comments for customizing who can leave comments on their child’s TikTok accounts, Discoverability for regulating the privacy of their kid’s post, and Liked videos for viewing the videos their child recently liked.

Parents may adjust the people who can leave comments on their child’s account from all users, friends only, or no one. They may also set the private and public accounts, with the latter being searchable and viewable from anyone.

Over the past year, TikTok has improved and enhanced its teams, policies, controls, and educational resources. The new enhancements aim to strengthen the community standards of  TikTok, prevent and protect the well-being of minors on the platform.

Recently, TikTok has partnered with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children to protect against child exploitation, remove content, terminate accounts, and report cases to the organization and local law enforcement agencies. It also supports the implementation of the voluntary principles to counter online child sexual exploitation and abuse to protect minors’ welfare.
