The vivo Y78 5G has soft launched featuring a curved OLED display, the good ‘ol Snapdragon 695 chipset, and a 64-megapixel camera with optical image stabilization (OIS).
To avoid confusion, this is not the China version of the vivo Y78 that was also announced this month. This is the global version which is more similar to the vivo Y78+ that was announced in April, with some minor differences.
Going back to its key features, the curved OLED display spans at 6.78 inches with Full HD+ resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and an under-display fingerprint biometrics.
Like mentioned above, it uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 695 which supports 5G connectivity. It is configured with up to 16GB RAM (8GB on-board) and 256GB storage. There’s no microSD slot here unfortunately.
Its back panel protrudes a triple camera setup with a 64-megapixel with OIS, combined with macro and depth sensors both having 2-megapixel count.
At the front is a 16-megapixel selfie shooter housed in a centered punch hole notch.
The battery is a 5000mAh cell coupled with 44 watts fast charging, just like its other market versions. It runs on Android 13 out of the box with FunTouchOS 13 on top.
It comes in two colorways, Dreamy Gold with an iridescent effect and Flare Black for a more muted look. However, vivo has yet to reveal the vivo Y78 5G’s price. Stay tuned for updates!
