Cebuana Lhuillier has partnered with Western Union for another innovation on its remittance service.
With the partnership, clients can now receive international remittances sent through any of Western Union’s locations abroad directly to their micro-savings account available in the eCebuana app.
According to Cebuana Lhullier, this new development provides clients with the convenience of receiving money sent by their loved ones and families abroad.
“Cebuana Lhuillier has always been committed to providing the best and most convenient option for our clients. With this latest development, made possible with the support of Western Union, Cebuana Lhuillier micro-savings account holders will now have the option to receive their remittance directly via their eCebuana app in the safety and comfort of their own homes and use them for other financial transactions available on the app,” said Philippe Andre Lhuillier, Cebuana Lhuillier Senior Executive Vice President.
Recipients can now receive their remittances through the eCebuana app. eCebuana users only need to select receive money service; choose Western Union, and then provide the MTCN or Reference No. After submitting the required information and successfully inputting the OTP provided through SMS, Western Union remittance will automatically be credited to their micro-savings account.
Furthermore, they may also choose to cash this in at any Cebuana Lhuillier branch or use the funds for various in-app services, including bills payment, load purchases, direct remittances to other Micro Savings accounts, at a Cebuana Lhuillier branch, or to any other bank account.
“This thrust towards mobility and accessibility remains part of the company’s push towards digital transformation, as Cebuana Lhuillier continues to maintain our stride as a ‘tech-brick’ company and the leader in its industry—both in network reach and through our many tech innovations. This is just one of the many innovations that the company is developing, still in line with our commitment of bringing financial inclusion to every Filipino,” said Jean Henri Lhuillier, Cebuana Lhuillier President and CEO.
