Listen to article

Xiaomi has revealed that the upcoming Xiaomi Mi 11 will no longer include the charger in its box.

Prior to the smartphone’s official launch, Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun has shared today on Weibo that the latest Xiaomi Mi 11 will arrive without the charger. With this, the Xiaomi Mi 11’s brand new packaging comes slighter and thinner.

According to Lei Jun, the company will cancel the included charger in response to the call of science and technology environmental protection. Moreover, he mentioned that everyone has many idle chargers, which is also a burden to the environment. Despite this, he also mentioned that they are aware that this major decision may not be understood.

More information about the Xiaomi Mi 11 will be unveiled on its launch on December 28 at 7:30 PM in China. Stay tuned to our page for more updates.

this is an excuse to cut down in manufacturing costs while still boasting the targeted selling price. apple did it and saw no backlash so they will do it as well. if they will do that then they must make the price of chargers close to nothing to seem genuine in the eyes of the consumer not charge extra for something that should have been part of the package at the point of sale of the device.
