During the local launch of the Xiaomi Mi 4i, Mi Philippines has announced that it has inked an exclusive partnership with Smart for the said handset. However, details were scarce about which postpaid plan will the newly-launched smartphone will be bundled with at that time.
Yesterday, the questions were finally put to rest as the MVP-owned telco has announced that the Xiaomi Mi 4i will come free of charge if you subscribe to Smart Surf Plus Plan 999.

The Smart Surf Plus Plan 999 comes with a monthly data allocation of 5GB, 30 minutes worth of voice calls and 100 SMS to all networks, and free subscription to Gadget Shield for a month.
When subscribed to the said postpaid plan, subscriber can also pick one Value Added Service (VAS) content from the list below. If they wish to do so, they can pick another VAS content and replace the existing one on the next billing cycle.

Just to reiterate, there won’t be any additional charges for the Xiaomi Mi 4i if you subscribe to the Smart Surf Plus Plan 999 or higher. On top of that, if you’re one of the first 50 subscribers who got the handset from Smart’s Online Store, the telco will throw in a free 10,400mAh Xiaomi power bank to further sweeten the deal.
If you don’t want to be tied to a postpaid contract, you can also get a Xiaomi Mi 4i for Php9,799USD 167INR 14,156EUR 159CNY 1,216 from Lazada starting on July 29 or from authorized local retailers starting next month. By going down this route, you’ll get a free Smart prepaid LTE SIM card which has a free 50MB of data allocation and up to Php150USD 3INR 217EUR 2CNY 19 prepaid load rebate for the first six months.
