HP enters PC Gaming with the Pavilion HPE H9 Phoenix

Along with the HP Envy Spectre that was launched last week, HP is also entering the desktop PC gaming market in the Philippines with the introduction of the H9 Phoenix.

The desktop rig is targeted towards the entry-level to mid-level gamers and comes with a pretty decent graphics card (Radeon HD 7770).

HP Pavilion HPE H9 Phoenix specs:
23-inch 3D LED monitor
Intel Core i5-3570K 3.4GHz, quad-core, 6MB cache
Turbo Boost up to 3.8GHz
16GB DDR3 RAM
AMD Radeon HD7770 2GB DDR5 VRAM
1TB SATA HDD 7200rpm
WiFi 802.11 b/g/n
Super-Multi Drive
GigaBit LAN
Bluetooth 4.0
Beats Audio
15-in-1 card reader
2 x USB 3.0 ports
8 x USB 2.0 ports
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit

To make it a little more attractive, they’ve also added a built-in liquid cooling system and since the processor used is unlocked, gamers can liberally overclock their rig. The system comes with 2 passive 3D glasses.

The price of this system — Php74,990. That includes the rig, the 3D monitor and the 3D glasses. It would have been great if they included a Beats by Dr. Dre headphone as well.

  1. too expensive.. with that price you can actually build your own custom pc with a high end graphics and maybe a core i7 3770k..

    • Building your own gaming PC is always the best option if you know how to build one :)

    • True. But then again, people who find this intriguing either know very little about computers, or have been a fanboi of other “platforms” and found their OS of choice limiting them from games. Not meant to insult anyone. Just stating facts.

  2. Lots of pre-build gaming PC in computer stores.
Better than branded. Way cheaper than branded.

  3. True. Branded high-end desktop rigs aren’t really a top seller here because the people who want the configs they offer are usually the ones who know how to build their own.

Pre-built branded desktops are for non-techy parents looking for quick solutions, and I bet those usually go for non-super powered laptops now.

  4. what’s with the specs? they included beats audio? and yet sir abe still said “It would have been great if they included a Beats by Dr. Dre headphone as well.” So is it just an app. or is it express card?

    • Probably the on board audio just like their high end notebooks.

    • Beats audio has always been nothing more than a gimmick. It was never a dedicated audio card, because it just used the built-in audio chip of the motherboard. What you see in Envy laptops is nothing more than software magic.

God, don’t even get me started with the Beats headphones. Please, for the love of humanity don’t buy INSANELY overpriced headphones. And it’s annoying how some people brag about how “they’ve always cared about sound quality”. Since when did they care? Since they bought the headphones, and all of a sudden they become audiophiles? LMAO. :))

  5. Mainly you’re just paying for the brand name, but for those who knows how to build a gaming pc 75k is too much. Maybe it will only take about 30k to 40k to surpass the spec. of Phoenix. That would mean a big saving that can be used for more gadgets! :)

  6. LOL anong gagawin ng 7770? haha grabe sobrang hina ng card na yan. Para lang to sa mga mayayaman na walang alam sa pagbili.

  7. The HP Pavilion HPE h9-1120t may not be the prettiest or most powerful PC around, but it’s a good performance and appearance naman. :)
