Ainol keeps of churning out more 7-inch tablets. The latest one we spotted is the Ainol Novo 7 Flame which sells locally for about Php9,999USD 170INR 14,445EUR 162CNY 1,241.
The Novo 7 Flame comes with a dual-core 1.5GHz processor, 1GB RAM and a 7-inch HD 720p IPS LCD display. The Novo7 Flame is similar to the $139PHP 8,157INR 11,780EUR 132CNY 1,012 Novo 7 Crystal we posted earlier this month but that one does not have the HD display resolution of the flame.
Ainol Novo 7 Flame specs:
7-inch IPS display @ 1280×800 pixel
AMLogic AML8726-M6 1.5GHz dual-core
Mali 400 dual-core GPU
1GB DDR3
16GB internal storage
WiFi 802.11 b/g/n
5MP rear camera
2MP front-facing camera
5000mAh Li-Ion battery
Android 4.0.3
The Novo 7 Flame comes with a metallic chassis instead of the usual polycarbonate body of its other siblings. The 5000mAh internal battery should also last it around 7 hours, maybe more.
We’re not sure if the Novo 7 Flame is official (Cherry Mobile has some sort of co-branded partnership with them) but the ones sold at Villman puts the price at Php9,999USD 170INR 14,445EUR 162CNY 1,241.

It’s actually been around for a short while. Saw a lot of Sulit sellers selling them for about 8k. Most are pre-orders/reservations, but there are some legit sellers that already have them on stock.

Curiously, a price point too close to the nexus 7/kindle fire hd market, which offer much better quality and specs.

I was planning to wait for the Nexus 7’s price to go down, but this model of Ainol seems better in terms of value for money.
For me:
Why Nexus 7?
1. it’s Asus and google
2. might have a better build quality
3. quad-core
4. Jellybean out of the box
Why Flame?
1. has most of what the Nexus 7 is missing (expandable memory, 5MP rear camera, USB on-the-go, FLASH support)
2. even more affordable (16GB flame vs 8GB nexus)
3. 5,000 mAh battery
I had an Ainol Aurora before and it’s ok for its price, but I wish I had at least a dual-core so I sold it. What I also hate is its lack of bluetooth (transfering photos, videos and documents from my phone and laptop for presentations). And now, all of these were solved, with almost the SAME PRICE! :)
plus the bonus of metal back and the rear camera with autofocus. :)
Now, I’m decided!

Samsung and the other key players should now lower their price or come out with new and better features/apps or face extinction. I wonder if the after sales support of this tablet is up to par with Samsung, Asus, etc.

I got the Ainol Fire (Chinese version) which is basically the same as the Flame (international version) for P7,500.00
I’ve been using it for a month, and I’d say it’s really value for money. I’m a happy owner. :)

to answer a few of the above questions posted on the comments, the Fire has Bluetooth, microSD card slot and mini-HDMI port. And, oh, I’m using Skype on this.
It’s not perfect, with some minor flaws, but for it’s price, I’m not complaining! hehe

Hi Yuga -thanks for the info.
To Yuga and to Fellow Readers:
Need your help.
I am planning to buy 7-inch tablet some of the considerations I have are:
1. Cost (12K or less)
2. Performance (ideal for HD/high graphics/ 3D games, no app “incompatibility” issue in google play)
3. Functionality (connection to TV, USB support, dual camera, sd card support)
3. Quality and durability
Nexus 7 is one of the best option but its luck of functionality (no hdmi, no rear camera, no USB support, no sd card support) is forcing me to look for other alternatives.
It seems that Archos Cobalt and Novo 7 Flame are the ideal choices for me. But I am having trouble of choosing between the 2, so I would like to ask you and the other readers’s opinion on this. Which of the 2 will you recommend (Novo Flame 7 or Archos Cobalt 80?) and why? Or if there are other brands (meeting my expectations) can you recommend.
Archos seems good but Novo’s specs is far better. But I am not sure of Novo’s (China) quality and performance compared to Archos (France).
Please help.
Thank you in advance for your advise.

Hi, I have been using the Novo 7 Flame for close to a month now. So far I haven’t had any major problems with it. I like my Novo 7 Flame. Haven’t had any problems with downloading stuffs from Google Play and wifi works fine. The only minor problems with it so far is that the sound isn’t too loud and the battery status or info it gives is not accurate. Battery power one moment may be around 50% and the next time you check after an hour or so it might go up to around 60%. So it’s possible to run out of power around 30% battery power. Although lately it’s been around 10%-20%. But it does last a while for me. About one to two days with constant use. For the money I paid for it (P8,000), I’m not complaining. Even comes with free leather jacket.

Hi, Just want to ask for the locations of stores. Bihira lang kc merong Ainol flame dito. isang beses palang ako nakakita, sa megamall palang at around 12k.. Gusto ko makita ung 8k na yan.. Sang starmall din b un? sa crossing b? at anong floor at pangalan ng store… thank you

I bought mine online last October 18, on its 4th day I brought it to one of its local store because it can’t access the internal storage where my apps are installed making the tablet useless. Last January 15 before it reaches its 3rd month the touch function failed. I brought it again for repair, now they are asking me to pay the 1600php for screen replacement because according to them it is not covered by warranty. Cheap tablet but high maintenance I guess.
