Intel confirms Ice Lake, a successor to its 8th-gen core CPU Cannon Lake

Intel has given a glimpse of information on the CPU family which will be a successor for the 8th-gen processor family.

“The Ice Lake processor family is a successor to the 8th generation Intel® Coreâ„¢ processor family. These processors utilize Intel’s industry-leading 10nm+ process technology.” according to Intel’s website.

Intel will be unveiling their 8th-gen CPU family named Coffee Lake and will also be discussing its Cannonlake CPU family. By this time, Intel would most likely tell more about the Ice Lake processor.

Moreover, Intel will implement the 10nm+ micro architecture on Ice Lake CPUs, while the Cannonlake CPU family will see the 10nm die-shrink process of the Coffee Lake architecture.

Intel will be live streaming Coffee Lake’s official launch, as well as the official introduction of the aforementioned CPU families: the Cannonlake and the Ice Lake, on their Facebook page and newsroom at 8:00 AM PDT on August 21, 2017 (11:00 PM in the Philippines).
