Asus Philippines has recently posted a teaser on their Facebook page of their upcoming device. Obviously, the teaser didn’t reveal much about the product that is said to be launched in this year’s Computex, but the folks over at Ausdroid got a hold of a pair of press renders that reveals what the Taiwanese company has in store.
Below are two press renders of the yet-to-be-announced tablet that goes by the name of “Asus ZenPad”. Prior to this leak, some key information about the ZenPad were revealed after the tablet passed through FCC for certification.
The ZenPad will allegedly come in two models based on the screen size – the ZenPad 7 which sports 7-inch display with a 1024 x 600 resolution and the ZenPad 8 which features a bigger and more pixel-packed 8-inch QXGA (2048 x 1536) resolution. Both of these models have a 4:3 aspect ratio which is evident on the square-ish form factor seen on the press render above.
Apart from the difference in screen size, the two ZenPads will allegedly feature different hardware configuration. The more value-oriented of the two, the ZenPad 7, is expected to run on any of the three processors under the new Intel Atom x3 lineup which is backed by 1GB of RAM and 8GB or 16GB internal storage.
A 3G-provisioned model of the ZenPad 7 (Z170CG) will also be offered alongside the Z170C.
Meanwhile, the ZenPad 8 and its data-enabled sibling will be powered by either Intel Atom Z3560 or Z3530 processor with 2GB of RAM and up to 64GB of internal storage.
The ZenPad 8 will have the same design of the ZenPad 7 which features an all-screen façade with a rear panel coated in a soft touch finish and a strip of leather on the right side.
The new Asus ZenPad tablets are expected to be unveiled on June 1, in time for Computex 2015.
