Samsung 860 EVO 2.5-inch SSDs land in the Philippines

Samsung made their announcement on their new 860 EVO and PRO line of SSD’s two weeks ago. They pack V-NAND flash memory, a new MJX controller, and up to 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM. This keeps the speeds fast at up to 560MB/s read and 530MB/s write, as well as a long lifespan of up to 2,400 terabytes written (860 EVO).

The 860 EVO comes in M.2, mSATA, and 2.5-inch form factors. The latter is now available over at Villman in 250GB, 500GB, and 1TB capacities.

Samsung 860 EVO specs:
2.5-inch, mSATA, M.2 form factors
Samsung V-NAND 3-bit MLC flash memory
512MB/1GB/2GB/4GB LPDDR4 cache memory
250GB/500GB/1TB/2TB/4TB storage capacity (2.5-inch)
250GB/500GB/1TB/2TB storage capacity (M.2)
250GB/500GB/1TB storage capacity (mSATA)
Up to 550MB/s read, 520MB/s write speed
5-year warranty, or up to 2,400 Terabytes written

As the specs show, the 2.5-inch version does come in 2TB and 4TB capacities, so we would guess that these would arrive in the country as well at some point.

Here are the prices as listed on Villman’s store page:
* Samsung 860 EVO (2.5-inch) 250GB, Php5,488 – See listing here.
* Samsung 860 EVO (2.5-inch) 500GB, Php10,488 – See listing here.
* Samsung 860 EVO (2.5-inch) 1TB, Php19,988 – See listing here.
