Samsung Electronics has announced a new member of its Exynos 7 Octa prorcessor line-up designed for mid-range smartphones and tablets – the Exynos 7 Octa 7870.
The Exynos 7 Octa 7870 was manufactured using the company’s 14-nanometer FinFET process technology making it the first mobile application processor to be built using the said tech, promising increased performance and power efficiency.

It features eight 1.6GHz Cortex-A53 cores and LTE Cat.6 2CA Modem that supports 300Mbps downlink speed and FDD-TDD joint carrier aggregation. It also supports WUXGA (1920 x 1200) displays, 16MP rear and front cameras, and up to 1080p 60fps video playback.
The Exynos 7 Octa 7870 will be in mass production in the first quarter of 2016.
