Samsung has recently released a new external portable SSD called the T7 Shield Portable Solid State Drive (PSSD) that features a credit card size design, fast read-write speeds, and a rugged build.
The Samsung T7 Shield is designed for outdoor content creators or travelers. It is shock-resistant from drops of up to 3 meters and IP65-certified dustproof and water-resistant. Despite the rugged design, it is compact at 3.5 x 2.3 x 0.5 inches and light at 98 grams.
For the performance, the T7 Shield delivers a read speed of 1,050 MB/s and a write speed of 1,000 MB/s, which are the fastest transfer speeds currently available based on the USB 3.2 Gen2 standard.
For security, it supports 256-bit AES with hardware encryption. Plus, it provides access to Samsung’s Magician Software to help users conveniently manage the drive, and a 3-year limited warranty.
The Samsung T7 Shield is priced at USD 159.99 for the 1TB and USD 289.99 for the 2TB.
