If you’ve read our review of the Sony Xperia Z1, you’ll notice that it includes neat camera modes to go along with its 20.7 megapixel camera. However, those features are exclusive to the current flagship. Well, until now.
XDA Recognized Developer, krabappel2548, was able to port the Z1’s camera software to other members of the Z family: the Xperia Z, Xperia ZR, Xperia ZL, and the Xperia Z Ultra.
Here are the camera modes that the developer was able to port:
* Info Eye
* Augmented Reality effects
* Timeshift mode (currently not working on the Z Ultra)
* Manual Mode
* Social Cast mode
* Automatic mode
Notably, the features listed above don’t include Picture Effect and Sweep Panorama.
Before you decide to try this, do note that this involves rooting your device and flashing of software which can be fatal to your smartphone if not done correctly. Please proceed with caution.

In fairness, for people who knows, z1 camera software porting, first appeared in android authority site, is very good, but only for those who really knew. Many times I have tried this trick before the official software release, and yes, there’s hardly any difference between the ported one and the official release. That’ s the beauty of having a premium brand from a reputable manufacturer, not merely a vendor who ask OEM’s from India China and Korea to build one for them and stick on their emblem.. Lol.

I’m still not convinced with Xperia Z1. Maybe I’ll stick to my original plan of buying LG G2 by the end of this week. So far kasi sila palang ung may feature na nakakaconvinced saken tsaka meron silang ergonomic technology, “rear key”, na super helpful.
