Listen to article

With Netflix having introduced its new policy on password sharing by verifying both user accounts and households, this has led to varying opinions on whether or not it was the right move.

However, new data has suggested that despite expecting cancellations amidst its password sharing crackdown, Netflix has actually seen new sing ups grow in recent days.

According to Antenna, Netflix has seen its average daily sign ups reach 73,000 in the US from May 25 to May 28 making it the “four single largest days of U.S. user acquisition” since Antenna started measuring them.

This is a 102% increase from its prior 60-day average. In addition, Antenna reported that Netflix had actually seen almost 100,000 daily sign-ups on both May 26 and May 27 alone.
