Netflix has launched a new app called Netflix Playground, a kid-friendly gaming app for children 8 years old and below. The app exists as a free service for Netflix users who can access it without facing advertisements, purchasing options, or concealed charges. Kids can download the app on phones and tablets, then sign in using a Netflix account. Netflix also announced new and returning kids’ shows, including Young MacDonald, Trash Truck Season 3, and more Sesame Street content. The app enables children to learn through exploration while having fun, according to Netflix, which provides parents with tools to control their children's viewing and gaming activities. The Netflix Playground app is available in selected regions, but for global availability, it’ll be launched on April 28. With Netflix having introduced its new policy on password sharing by verifying both user accounts and households, this has led to varying opinions on whether or not it was the right move. However, new data has suggested that despite expecting cancellations amidst its password sharing crackdown, Netflix has actually seen new sing ups grow in recent days.
