With the recent news of its losing of subscribers, Netflix is now testing the waters of supporting ads on its platform, and we could see it as soon as year’s end.
It was just last month when Netflix had indicated their openness to introducting a lower tier ad-supported subscription plan. But now, recent news suggest that Netflix may bring in its newest subscription plan tier sooner than we may expect.

As reported by the New York Times, a note made to the employees of Netflix may suggest that the video streaming giant may soon be introducing their new plan within the final three months of 2022.
As just last month, Netflix CEO Reed Hastings had verbalized his sentiment on consumer choice and introducing ads to Netflix would be needed to figured out over the next year or two. This also comes as news in light of Netflix’s password sharing crackdown with plans of converting users who share passwords into paying customers.

However, no official announcement or details have been released by Netflix or how it would work. But with the lost of subscribers and massive dump in stock price, Netflix is starting to see some decline over the past months and is now doing whatever it can to keep its fanbase and shareholders holding on.
