The Philippines is among 15 new markets where Netflix will introduce its ad-supported tier. Other countries included in the rollout are Indonesia, Thailand, Poland, Sweden, Switzerland and New Zealand.
According to Netflix, the ad-supported plan now reaches more than 250 million monthly active viewers globally. The company says over 80 percent of users on the plan watch content every week.
The brand states that the expansion will give members in more countries a more affordable subscription option while also opening additional opportunities for advertisers.

The company is also adding new advertising formats. These include ads in video podcasts and vertical videos. These are expected to become available globally in 2027.
In addition, Netflix is using artificial intelligence to help advertisers optimize campaigns and adapt ad creatives for different formats such as pause ads and vertical video ads.
Pricing for the ad-supported plan in the Philippines has not yet been announced.
