The Philippines and the United States plan to build a 4,000-acre industrial hub in New Clark City to strengthen supply chains for technology and manufacturing.

The project follows the Philippines joining Pax Silica, a US-led program focused on securing supply chains for semiconductors, critical minerals, and data systems. The Philippines is now the 13th country in the initiative, along with nations like Australia, India, and South Korea.
The planned hub will be located in the Luzon Economic Corridor, which includes Metro Manila and nearby industrial areas. It is expected to support manufacturing and help improve the flow of goods, especially for electronics and technology parts.

The site for the project is New Clark City, a government-developed area north of Manila (Tarlac, Pampanga) managed by the Bases Conversion and Development Authority. Officials said they are still checking if there is enough land available and final details are still being discussed.
The US State Department said the hub will help allied countries work together in building and supplying key products. The plan also involves cooperation with Japan under a separate agreement to boost infrastructure in the area.
The move reflects closer ties between the Philippines and the US and aims to improve supply security in key industries.
