The Philippines and the United States plan to build a 4,000-acre industrial hub in New Clark City to strengthen supply chains for technology and manufacturing. The project follows the Philippines joining Pax Silica, a US-led program focused on securing supply chains for semiconductors, critical minerals, and data systems. The Philippines is now the 13th country in the initiative, along with nations like Australia, India, and South Korea. It is expected to support manufacturing and help improve the flow of goods, especially for electronics and technology parts. The move reflects closer ties between the Philippines and the US and aims to improve supply security in key industries. Apple has been gradually shifting some of its manufacturing to India, aiming to diversify its production base and mitigate risks associated with U.S.-China trade tensions. Waze has announced a new Motorcycle Mode designed specifically for riders, with the Philippines included among the first countries to receive the feature. Motorcycle Mode is rolling out now on both Android and iOS in the Philippines, Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Malaysia, Mexico, and Peru, with additional markets expected to follow.
