Bidvertiser Feed Ads

I had this weird hunch that the FeedBurner Ad Network (FAN) was killed after Google bought it last year. Not that it was a lucrative business doing feedvertising.

In the last 10 months that I was on the FAN, I think I’ve only made just around $40 or so. Now that there aren’t any advertisers via FeedBurner and the RSS Feedvertising on TLA is too expensive, another player in that arena would be more than welcome.

Fortunately, Bidvertiser has announced this week its going into feed advertising as well. The ads will appear at the bottom of your feeds and will look like the screenshot below:

Feed Ads

If you don’t have a Bidvertiser account, you can sign up here (aff). Add you blog and also apply for the feed ads separately.

You will be given a verification code which you need to publish in a blog post. Mine is BDV-645239-BDV.

Update: My main concern with Bidvertiser is that they will re-process your feeds and give you a new feed URL (mine’s http://feeds.bidvertiser.com/yugatech) which means you will need to get everybody re-subscribe to that one again. Big hole in their ad system IMO.

  1. Do you think feedvertising with bidvertiser or any other equivalent would actually make considerable money or make any difference at least? Heard any success from any other bloggers that do feedvertising?

  2. I have this implemented on one of my website RSS feed… Bidvertiser Feed is still in Beta, I figured out a bug in IE about the widget. I am not sure if they fixed it yet but the Subscription feed works fine. Three ads will be shown on your first 3 story/post – a good one. I haven’t implemented it to my other websites because as Abe said, you need to let your readers RE-subscribe. It is a pain but maybe worthed if you have a 1K up of subscribers. Code can be inserted not only on blog but for all websties that has RSS feed.

  3. Well, I hope that Google won’t purchase this company in the future…. hehehe

  4. ahehehe.

    ask ko lang ah..

san ba mas malaki kita sa dalawa, bidvertiser or google?

  5. I think it’s good that their offering an alternative. But I don’t know if it will really work because of the NEW FEED URL.

I mean, do you think people with 1k+ subscribers get to change to another feed url that easily?

    I don’t think so.

  6. Off topic: Bidvertiser is OK but it’s not contextual and don’t have as much as Google’s advertisers. If only Bidvertiser use contextual and add many more advertisers it might be a good alternative.

  7. Would it work if you stream the feed through Feedburner, ie. if you use Feedburner as your main subscription link?

  8. @ ian – haven’t tried that though. However, it’s possible FB will desensitize the feed first and thereby removing the ads.

  9. well , i tried ung bidvertise dito sa site kong redtube downloader and then at first wala talga ako conversion dito kasi wala akong traffic and then after i rank on google and yahoo and even aol dun na nagstart ung bidvertiser earnings ko.. i earn $2 a day not bad na siguro un. and i just received my payment $10 last week,

bidvertiser is one alternative kung ban ka sa adsense pero dont expect na they will convert like $17 a day like sa adsense.

kung bibisitahin nyo po ung site i replaced ung bidvertiser to adsense just an experiment lang and well malaki talga ang difference..

and bwal ba ung site ko sa adsense? baka kasi maban ako.. kasi ung CTR ko.. is 10-15%

ako po si ronald mojica .
