Meta’s AI assistant, MetaAI, remains unavailable in Europe as the European Commission continues its compliance review under the Digital Services Act (DSA). Despite Meta’s announcement to roll out the AI assistant across 41 European countries and 21 overseas territories, the launch is on hold pending regulatory approval. A Commission spokesperson confirmed that aspects of MetaAI fall under the DSA, which ensures online safety and transparency. Meta has stated its commitment to transparency with EU regulators and remains confident in meeting the necessary requirements.

In contrast, MetaAI has been available in the Philippines since October 9, 2024, providing users with AI-powered assistance across Meta’s platforms.
