Samsung devices getting Android Nougat revealed

It seems like someone from Samsung has been a bit too eager to put up the page detailing the company’s plans for its Nougat update. The blog post lists down what features to expect and which devices will soon receive the update.

The page was taken down shortly after, but a cached file has (of course) been recovered showing the possible plans of the South Korean company. Going by the posted information, some notable enhancements are to be expected on Quick Panel, Always On Display, and Multi Mode feature.

According to the retracted page, initial devices getting the Android Nougate treatment are as follows:

  • Galaxy S6
  • Galaxy S6 edge/edge Plus
  • Galaxy Note 5
  • Galaxy Tab A with S Pen
  • Galaxy Tab S2 (LTE unlocked)
  • Galaxy A3
  • Galaxy A8

From those, it is possible that the 2016 Galaxy A3 and A8 variants are the ones in the list, as the source also pointed out. The page also mentioned that the software update will arrive in different countries within the first half of 2017.

Is your Samsung device included? Do take note that this may not be the final list (hence the taking down) but it sure looks like an official post that will, later on, be made public.
