So here you go — starting yesterday, Viber for BlackBerry is now available in the App World. It took them some time but it’s finally here for BB users.
The version for the BB app still has limited features though:
Viber lets you send text and photo messages, anywhere in the world (Free calls coming soon as well). All you need is a 3G or WiFi connection, and friends who get Viber too.
I started using Viber on the iPhone and my Android phones last March when I was on a month-long trip to Europe. Been using it ever since especially when I am out of the country and lookign for alternatives to SMS and voice roaming.
You can grab it here.

I was keeping my Viber off, i use Whatsapp all the times since it was available in almost all platforms (android, ios, nokia and BB)
Now that Viber has more platforms i might use it daily now. I just wanna ask about the power consumption of Viber on Android, is it minimal or is it a hog? (keeping it on standby that is)

@ferdie nicio –
Playbook is running an OS version that’s very different from the current OS version for BB phones. We plan to look into it in the future, alongside our development for OS10, but we still don’t have specific release plans.
We invite you to follow us on our Facebook page for the latest news and updates on that :)

Hi,
Your device should be fully compatible with Viber. If you can’t download it from AppWorld normally, then please try this direct link to the application file in our official HelpDesk:
If this still doesn’t work, please let me know.

Have you tried looking for it in AppWorld?
@Kunwar –
This is a known issue, and we’re hoping to fix it in our upcoming update. We apologize for the temporary inconvenience, and we’d appreciate if you could get back to us after installing our next update and report whether or not the problem has been fixed :)

Hi again,
We’ve been receiving recently complaints from our users in India, specifically from the following networks:
– BSNL (Jammu & Kashmir)
– Aircel (Jammu & Kashmir)
– Reliance Telecom (Jammu & Kashmir)
– Vodafone (Jammu & Kashmir)
Andit seems like those networks started blocking Viber.
Does anyone have any information on this matter? Is there any way to contact those cellular companies and find it out?
Best regards,
